The Domaine de la Pinière
is situated in Indre-et-Loire, at the edge of the forest of Loches, in the middle of a small valley leading to the Vallée de líIndre. The house has been built in the 19th century by the farmer who exploited the domaine and it was, at the time, the biggest farm in the village of Saint-Germain. As he wished to live more comfortably, the owner had therefore decided to live in a bourgeois house set back from the farm, on the hillside, and looking out onto the valley.
8 kms from the royal city of Loches and a few cable's lengths away from the Vallée de la Loire: this constitutes an ideal starting point for those who want to discover the treasures of Touraine, such as the famous Châteaux de la Loire or the cultural sites, but also more unusual things such as the recipe of the "poire tapée", the pyramids of the forest of Loches, gastronomy, the great wines of the region or the legends of the lakes of Brenne. The big cities that are the closest after Loches are Chenonceaux ( 35 kms ), Tours ( 40 kms ) and Amboise ( 28 kms ).

The House

There is one entrance on the ground floor ; there is a fitted kitchen with a gas stove, an oven, a fridge, a dishwasher,a marble worktop ; a living room, partly facing south, with a large earthenware wood-burning stove of a Norwegian style and a stock of wood ; a bedroom with double bed ; a marble bathroom with a washbasin, a tub and toilets.
On the first floor, a landing leading to two bedrooms, each facing south, with twin beds and floors covered in old massive pine.

The decoration is sober but pleasant, with contamporary furniture or rustic furniture, in the style of the region. The floors in the kitchen and in the living room are made of stone from Charentes. The house is fit for 6 or 8 persons.

The private garden contains many trees such as palm trees, pines, lime trees. The sight on the meadow of the Domaine de la PiniËre is very beautiful and the tenants may enjoy the barbecue set and the garden furniture..

The farmhouse
The farmhouse is on the hillside and there is one floor under the roof, which are covered in old tiles ; it has been exploited until the end of the Second World War.There were, at the time, cowsheds, barns, a wine press and 40 seasonal workers were employed there during the summer.One can get to the farm through an alley lined with apple trees and there is a shaded park with a barbecue set and garden furniture.
On the ground floor may be found an entrance with a vaulted door and a marble stair with a vaulted ceiling. The enclosed glass-fronted roomheater, as well as the wood supply, is at your disposal. The entrance leads to a fitted kitchen ( 20 sq. m. ) with a stove working with gas as well as with electricity , an electric oven, a microwave oven, a fridge, a dishwasher, a marble worktop, a window and a French window, both facing south. The living room ( 90 sq. m. ) has six windows facing southwest and a large old fireplace, which can be used, with a wood supply at oneís disposal, two sofas, one of which is a sofa-bed fit for two persons, two armchairs, a TV with national channels and a mini hi-fi system with a CD reader. There is a marble bathroom with two washbasins, a large shower and toilets. There are three large bedrooms in the house, and they are fit for ten persons. The first ( 20sq. m. ) contains a double bed and a wardrobe ; it is at street-level.
On the first floor a landing leads to a suite fit for a family ( 90 sq. m. ), including a bedroom facing east and west with a double bed, a wooden floor, an electric heaterand an adjoining bathroom with a tub, two washbasins and toilets,and a separate bedroom facing east and west with twin beds, a wooden floor, an ekectric heater and two wardrobes. Another bedroom ( 16 sq. m. ) facing north has twin beds, a wooden floor, an electric heater, a wardrobe and a chest of drawers. The last bedroom ( 25 sq. m. ), facing northeast, has a mezzanine floor and a double bed, a wooden floor and an electric heater..

A swimming pool ( 10 * 5 m ) is also at the disposal of our guests ; it is totally enclosed, in order to preserve the safety of children, and a key allows you to get to it..
